It’s the beginning of summer fun, picnics and outdoor BBQ’s. Sharing the warm weather with friends and family is a tradition throughout the world!

Kids are soon to be out of school for the summer or graduating from college and this is the perfect time to celebrate!

Organizing for a party is not difficult when you know what steps to take leading up to the party date. Planning a party that will impress your guests is not that easy when you are scattered and not very organized. Wouldn’t it be fantastic to throw a party that keeps everyone talking even after years to come?

With a small bit of pre-planning, your party will be organized, fun and easy and you can relax and enjoy it with a minimal amount of stress. It can be as easy or detailed as you wish it to be.

Here are a few ideas to make your summer soirées easy-breezy so that as a host or hostess you too can enjoy the celebration!

After you set the date, it is time to consider and plan the elements that wil make your event special and fun!

Here are a few tips to get started:

Location, Location

If you are planning an outdoor party, make sure to have a backup location, just in case weather decides to take a turn towards Sumer showers. Also, set up a zone with shade for your fair skinned friends or those who typically overheat.

Set the Mood

Music always adds an extra layer of fun so create a soundtrack and make sure to have your remote speaker charged and ready for this event.

Prep the Food

Plan the menu and purchase the food the week before, this will give you time to prep whatever you decide to cook. If you are not a great cook, why not plan your party as a potluck and have guests bring food to share. If you decide to potluck it, Make sure you have an idea of what each guest will bring to ensure there is enough food and the main course is taken care of.

When I host a potluck, I usually provide the entree, which sets the theme and helps my guests know what type of side dishes to bring.

As a side note, if you are preparing all of the food, make sure to check on guests dietary restrictions and adapt your menu to avoid any allergic reactions.

Set up Zones

Make sure to create ones for your party including food, beverages and trash. Recycle. Having containers for each location will make it easy to set up and break down your party.  It is super easy to have a tub full of plates, utensils, napkins and another for beverages and cups and yet another for trash, wrapping paper and baggies for after party cleanup. Use outdoor friendly material that you can recycle and make clean up simple and easy.

Seating

Make sure that there is enough seating for your guests. If you have older guests, designate a few chairs that are the right height for them to maneuver into.

Most importantly

Don’t stress, enjoy your party and have fun.
